Robert "Bob" L. Sturgeon

Robert “Bob” L. Sturgeon, age 86, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Monday, November 17, 2025, peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones.

Robert was born May 6, 1939, in Bristow, IN, to William and Sarah (Eckert) Sturgeon. He worked as a Boiler Technician at Kimball International and retired in 2004 after 15 years. Robert was a hardworking country boy that would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Robert was a God fearing man that loved the Lord. Although he couldn’t read, he could quote the scripture from memory.

Robert is survived by his daughters, Tammy Castillo (Jason) and Peggy Merriman (Matthew); son, Jeff Sturgeon (Debbie); sister, Othella House; brother, Harold Sturgeon; 18 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and countless nieces and nephews.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Nancy Ann (Kline) Sturgeon; second wife, Darlene (Fuchs) Sturgeon; daughter, Kimberly Sturgeon; sons, Mark Sturgeon and Mickey Sturgeon; and brothers, Henry, Gerald, Jim, and Lawrence Sturgeon

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Matthew Merriman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 19, 2025, and from 11:00 a.m. until service time, Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
