Robert R. “Bob” Voegeli, age 88, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2020, at St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by his family.
Bob was born October 9, 1931, in Muscatine, IA, to William Voegeli and Dorothy (McKee) Voegeli. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Science from Purdue University where he was a member of Acacia Fraternity and attended the University of Illinois. Bob taught High School Biology & Science in the Evansville area for many years and assisted in coaching. He was a member of St. John’s UCC. Bob enjoyed watching college football and he was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. During the summers, he was assistant director at Camp Koch for the Handicapped, he worked for the Boys and Girls Club in Franklin, IN, was a Seasonal Naturalist for the National Park Service on the Blue Ridge Parkway and Mammoth Cave twice named him, “Guide of the Year”. Bob was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Aline (Stoltz) Voegeli; daughters, Karen Sue Whisman, Barbara Gayle Irving (Russell), Dana Lynn Voegeli; son, Gregory Alan Voegeli, grandchildren, Brionna Kay Thomas (Chris), Matthew Alan Whisman and Jason Voegeli (Emily Cessna); great grandchildren, Canon, Bennett, Leeland and Asher; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; brother, William J. Voegeli.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Bob’s special caregivers, Marilyn Osborne and Laura Parsons for their exceptional care, love and support.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Tyrone Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 21, 2020, at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL.
