Gayle S. (Mullen) Collier, age 83, of Newburgh, IN, went home to be with the Lord at 8:01 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital with family by her side. Robert J. “Bob” Collier, age 84, followed suite to be with the love of his life at 6:01 a.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Linda E. White Hospice House with family by his side.
Gayle was born August 7, 1937, in Evansville, IN, to the late Norton E. and Carmen V. (Brown) Mullen. She graduated from Central High School in 1955. Gayle loved cooking for the different events at her church.
Bob was born September 1, 1936, in Evansville, IN, to the late Grover Lee Collier and Mabel (Hayes) Cunningham. He graduated from Bosse High School in 1955 and went on to earn his Associate’s Degree from Indiana Vocational Technical College. Bob was a Gideon and was never without a Bible to hand out to anyone at any time.
Bob and Gayle were charter members of Northeast Park Baptist Church where they put their love, time, and energy. They both loved singing in the choir and serving their Lord and Savior. Bob and Gayle were living the greatest love story ever told. They loved their family dearly and lived their lives to be grandparents.
Bob and Gayle are survived by their daughter, Kimberly Hancock; son, Robert W. Collier (Debbie); grandchildren, Katherine Collier, Cole Collier (Erin), Chris Hancock (Samantha), and Eric Hancock; and great granddaughter, Nora Hancock.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Northeast Park Baptist Church, 1215 North Boeke Road, Evansville with Pastor Steve Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. until service time, Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Northeast Park Baptist Church.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the Heritage Center for their loving care and concern for “Mom and Pop” over the past year and a half and to the Linda E. White Hospice House for the beautiful, peaceful place.
