Robert “Steve” Ferguson, 75, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Steve was born on March 6, 1950, in Maryville, Tennessee, to Keith and Josephine (Mays) Ferguson. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1972 and went on to work at Alcoa Warrick Operations, where he dedicated 42 years of service. Steve was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Tennessee Volunteers, Indiana Hoosiers, and St. Louis Cardinals.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Judy, of 53 years; his children, Shannon Pfettscher (Shawn), Ashlyn Lynn (Larry), Chris Ferguson (Jenn), and Seth Ferguson (Ally); his many grandchildren and step-grandchildren; his brother, Tom; and many other friends and family.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Christopher Eric.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Intensive Care Unit at St. Vincent Hospital for their kindness, compassion, and care of Steve.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 23, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor David Huff officiating. Burial will be private in Park Lawn Mausoleum.
Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
