Roger Albert Barnes

Roger Albert Barnes, age 76, of Evansville, IN, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021, at home.

Roger was born October 22, 1944, in Columbus, OH, to Daniel H. and Thelma M. (Parks) Barnes. He graduated from Bosse High School in 1962 and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Evansville in 1969 and his MBA from Vanderbilt University in 1995. Roger worked as a Controller for Tacit Solutions for 22 years. He was a member of Living Word Church. Roger enjoyed sports and was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and The Ohio State University. He enjoyed ballroom dancing, camping, hiking, being outdoors, and visiting National Parks. Roger was a member of Owensboro Bourbon Society, Evansville Jaycees, and he loved volunteering at Wesselman’s Nature Center. He never knew a stranger, and he loved his Wednesday Breakfast Group.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Angela Fellwock (Tim); sons, Doug Barnes (Barrie Hughes) and Eric Barnes (Tracy); granddaughter, Emma Barnes; companion, Phyllis Wendt; sister-in-law, Sharon Barnes; and nieces, Heather Soliday (Stephen) and Allison Mize (Rowdy).

Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Thelma Barnes; brother, Bruce Barnes; and granddaughter, Alexa Barnes.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 7, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Mike Claypool officiating. A Live Stream will be available beginning twenty minutes prior to the service time.
