Roger Martine, 99, of Safety Harbor, Florida, passed away Sunday morning August 23, 2020 at his home. Roger was born June 14, 1921 in Morehaven, Florida to Jeanne Marie Gillium and Joseph Clements Martine. Roger had two sisters: Dorothy Alexander, who preceded him in death, and Marguerite Orth of La Grange, Illinois.
Roger was a proud veteran and served in the United States Air Force. After a dedicated career as an Engineer at the Whirlpool Plant in Evansville, Indiana, he retired to travel in his motorhome and enjoy time with his family. Roger was married to his loving wife Nina Rebecca Shelton Martine for over 50 years- she passed away in 1994. Roger and Nina were the parents of three daughters: Judith Ann Stone (1944--2020), Jeanne Kay Ritz (1948-2001), and Dorothy Jo Davis who resides in Tarpon Springs, Florida.
Roger is loved by his grandchildren: Nina Morgan of Cathage, Texas, Daniel Maglaris of White Oak, Texas, James Maglaris of Pace, Florida, Roger Maglaris of Marshall, Texas, Jon Ashworth of Waukegan, Illinois, and Michael Davis of Palm Harbor, Florida.
Roger also has many great grandchildren: Zachary Rogers, Patrick Maglaris, Kaylen Maglaris, Raymond Maglaris, Hope Bailey, Jordan Maglaris, Macie Maglaris Rhodes, Ethan Ashworth, Michaela Ashworth, Lincoln Davis and Ella Kate Davis.
Roger is survived by his second wife Marilyn Martine of Safety Harbor, Florida who he spent the second phase of his life with.
Roger was a family focused Christian man who enjoyed gospel music and reading his Bible (and listening to the Bible on cassette tape in his later years, thanks to the generous gift of his loving sister Marguerite). He had a great sense of humor and loved fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors. Roger was blessed to live a full life and has left his family with many wonderful memories. He will be missed.
