Roger Paul Jaquess, age 78, of Evansville, IN, passed away Monday, October 23, 2023, at home with his wife and daughter by his side.
He was born on March 4, 1945, to the late William and Edna (McRoberts) Jaquess. He was a Bosse High School graduate, class of 1963, and enjoyed every reunion. He was very sorry that he was not able to attend this year.
Roger joined the United States Air Force and was proud to serve from 1964-1968 as a Medic and a Researcher at the “School of Aerospace Medicine” in San Antonio, TX. Upon completing his time in the Air Force, he worked in the lab at Welborn Hospital while going to USI where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
He had several accounting jobs and retired as CEO of Green River of Owensboro where he was instrumental in the development of a childrens hospital. He was awarded a key to the city for his accomplishment.
Roger was very intelligent and was always wanting to learn how everything worked. He enjoyed boating, fishing, watching golf and Jeopardy, and working on genealogy for family and friends. He was able to trace his family back to descendants of the Mayflower.
He loved his family, and his daughter, Shannon was his pride and joy. He considers her graduation from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with her Chemical Engineering and Chemistry Degree to be his greatest accomplishment.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Shirley (Jourdan) Jaquess; daughter, Shannon Jaquess; and sister, Vicki Jaquess.
