Ronald Otis Collins

Ronald Otis Collins, age 82, of Evansville, IN, passed away April 24, 2025, at Linda E. White Hospice House.

Ron was born May 31, 1942, in Evansville, IN, to Otis and Elizabeth (Williams) Collins. He graduated from Bosse High School in 1960 and graduated from Indiana School of Mortuary Science. He attended Living Word Christian Church, was a Veteran in the United States Army, and was a Shriner and Past Master of the Masonic Lodge #174 in Newburgh. Ron and his wife, Billie, owned and operated Siegels’s Big & Tall store for 10 years, He worked for AT&T for 30 years as a Repairman before retiring in 1995. He enjoyed playing golf with his Hadi Golf League and watching NASCAR and old Western movies. Ron loved working at the Hadi Shrine Circus and especially loved driving for the Hospital Staff, making over 300 trips to various Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Billie J. (Wright) Collins; sister-in-law, Brenda Moser (Larry) and their family in Marysville, IN; nephew, Mike York (Andrea) and their family in Eddyville, KY; and additional nieces and nephews.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott R. Collins, who passed away in 2022; and sister, Joan York (Ross).

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Living Word Christian Church, 3888 IN-261, Newburgh, IN, with Pastor Tommy Epperson officiating. Burial will be Private in Park Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN, with a Masonic Service beginning at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. service time, Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Living Word Christian Church.
