Ronald Glenn "Ron" La Rue Obituary

Ronald Glenn “Ron” La Rue, age 77, of Newburgh, IN, peacefully went home to be with his Lord on Friday, December 12, 2025.

Ron was born March 22, 1948, in Robards, KY, to Woodrow “Woody” and Mary Myrtle (Culver) La Rue. He graduated from Henderson County High School and earned his apprentice in Maintenance Mechanics. He retired from Alcoa after 37 years of service. Ron was a talented, self-taught woodworker. He loved working in his garage, making many beautiful items for Pat, their home, or his girls and grandkids, like shelves, stools, cradles, hope chests, and many other things. He had a knack for carpentry and mechanic work. He also loved horses. In his younger years, he owned them for a time and enjoyed riding them in parades. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time. Ron was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his grandkids, and he especially loved taking care of everyone by looking out for their needs before his own.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Patricia “Pat” (Kenney) La Rue; daughters, Evanna Joyce Monroe (Rick), Janice Bond (Terry), Gladys Pfender (Jim), Tracey Chumley (Ed), Shannon Seats (Josh), and Paula Crowley (Bryan); sister, Benita “Nita” Jones (Donald); brother, Newman La Rue; grandchildren, Liberty Fischer (Scott), Amy Bonke, Amy Woods, Jarryd Noffsinger (Heather), Bryanna Trautvetter (Daniel), Madison Crowley, Sydney Chumley, Cameron Seats, and Kyndall Chumley; great grandchildren, Justin, Tabitha, Dylan, Belle, Chloe, Arek, Gordon, Zane, Kylin, William, Kaioni, Raven, and Logan; great great grandchildren, Wrenlee and Karson; many nieces and nephews; and dog, Sugar.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Woody and Mary La Rue; sisters, Ann Townsend and Patsy Bradham; brother, Clarence La Rue; and grandson, Jeffrey Monroe.
