Ruby A. (Easley) Burks

Ruby A. (Easley) Burks, age 87, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 12:40 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at North River Health Campus.

Ruby was born January 22, 1934, in Dahlgren, IL, to James E. Easley and Florence I. (Lunyou) Easley. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School in Illinois. She was a Bible Study Leader and started a quilting group at Crossroads Christian Church. She played the violin since the age of 6 until the age of 68 and played in various churches. She was the co-owner and office manager at Office World. She worked many years in Administrative positions, and she was a member of the NOMDA as part of her professional life. She traveled to 13 different countries and once lived in Germany as a young army wife.

Ruby is survived by her daughters, Deana Langford (Jim) and Susan Wahlstrom; son, Tim Williams (Tara); grandchildren, Carina Wahlstrom, Jennifer Langford, Rylee Williams, Aiden Williams, and Sydnee Williams; and great-grandchild, Hannah Emery (Jantzen); great-great-grandson, Jaxson Emery; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Judy Mahan; father of her children, Paul Williams; and lifelong best friends, Joyce Logsdon and LeVon Holmes.

Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Burks; brothers, Ted Easley, William Easley, Gerald Easley, and Carl Easley; and sisters, Mildred Laird, Marie Schrader, Helen Wilson, and Bernice Smith.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, February 8, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Jack Arney officiating.
