Ruth Ella Parker, age 83, of Newburgh, IN, passed away due to complications of Alzheimer 's disease at 7:10 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2020, at the Villages at Hamilton Pointe.
Ruth was born November 28, 1936, in Hickory, KY, to Vernon Warren and Reba (McGregor) Warren. Ruth was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and cooking. Ruth was fun-loving and full of laughter. She was an active member of Crossroads Christian Church where she loved to serve the Lord. She retired from St. Mary’s Medical Center in 2000 where she worked as a registered nurse on the cardiac/pulmonary unit. She was always a patient advocate and loved the difference she made in their lives.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Dwight L. Parker; daughter, Donna Grant (Robert); sons, Jim Dassel, Tim Dassel (Toni), Steve Dassel and Paul Dassel (Jan); step-daughter in-law, Michelle Parker; step-son, Ross Parker (Tricia); sisters, Michelle Driskell and Nannette Ward; eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Ruth is preceded in death by her, parents; maternal grandparents, Robert and Nanny McGregor who raised her; step son, Scott Parker and her sister, Sandra Davis.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 26, 2020, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Jack Arney officiating.
