Sam Gene Brock, age 52, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
Sam was born January 30, 1974, in Blytheville, Arkansas, to Inez Sullivan. He was raised by, Anna (Allen) Brock, and was part of a very large family. He found joy in life’s simple and spirited pleasures. He enjoyed gambling and the thrill of the game, as well as spending time playing and listening to music, both rap and R&B, which brought him both comfort and happiness. Sam had a deep love for cooking and grilling, often expressing his care for others through the meals he prepared. Above all, he cherished his friends and family, holding close the moments spent together and the memories they created. Sam’s warmth, passions, and love for those around him will be deeply missed.
Sam is survived by his significant other, Alison Flener; his mother, Anna Brock; his children, Benisha (Jacob) Brown, Kanisha (Quenton) Taylor, Whitney (Jeremy) Meredith, Nevaeh Osborne, Carl (Amanda) Brock, Otis Rankin, Kingston Helm, and Javion Osborne; his grandchildren, Torianna, Tobias, Lucah, Jaxon, Anthony, Shauna and Lilliana; his siblings, Monell (Teneka) Kennedy, Robert Williams, David (Delicia) Kennedy, and Isaac Lucas; and his aunt, Candy Kennedy.
Sam is preceded in death by his late wife, Shawn Brock; and brothers, Willie Williams and James Clay.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 27, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue.
Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 27, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
