Samuel Rittenberry, 75 of Lynnville, IN, passed away at 1:00 am, Friday, April 20, 2018, at his home with his family at his side.
Born May 28, 1942 in Evansville, IN, Sam was the son of the late Samuel and Lucy (Simpson) Rittenberry. After graduating from high school, he made his career as a tool and die maker and retired from GenCorp. Sam was a life-long member of Keck Avenue Baptist Church and past president of the Newburgh Jaycees. He had a great love for the outdoors. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Wilson; son at heart, George Brannen; dear friend and mother of his daughter, Cherie Rittenberry, all of Evansville; very special niece, Kelly O’Brien (Billy) of Thorton, CO; devoted friend, Janet Meyer of Boonville; and his beloved cat.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Jim Rittenberry.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Kirk Langston officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 3pm until 7 pm, Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home - East Chapel and again from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am, Wednesday, at Boone Funeral Home – East Chapel.
