Shannon (Harl) Badger, age 71, of Newburgh, IN, went home to be with the Lord at 10:11 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Newburgh Healthcare while surrounded by loved ones.
Shannon was born November 19th, 1953 in Evansville, IN to Birk Harl and Frances (Church) Harl. She graduated from William Henry Harrison High School in 1971. She owned Shannon’s Emporium in Newburgh. She was vice president of U.S. Surveyor, Evansville for many years. In 2001, Shannon retired to go to work with her husband at Badger Construction. Shannon loved dogs and had a golden-doodle named Buddy, as well as many other dogs in the past, and she loved listening to music, filling the room with her favorite songs.
Shannon is survived by her loving husband, Bill Badger, of 37 years; sons, Brian Phelps, Kyle Badger, Bill Badger Jr., Keary Badger (Jann) and Brock Badger; sister, Sherry Smith-Myers; brother, C.A. Smith (Betty); nieces, Carey Reisz and Cindy Kegelman (Lance); nephew, Roger Smith (Kelly); and 9 grandchildren.
Shannon is preceded in death by her parents and her sister.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Tom Brown officiating. Burial will be private.
Friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until service time, Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
