Shannon L. Garrett

Shannon L. Garrett, age 90, of Evansville, IN, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025, at home.

Shannon was born June 13, 1935, in Chicago, IL, to Irvin and Ruth (Riend) Garrett. He graduated from Mt. Carmel High School in 1954. Shannon worked for Gibson County Co-Op where he retired in 1997. He was a member of Northeast Park Baptist Church since 1958, where he served as deacon, served on several committees, was a youth leader, a church soloist in the church choir, and was the pitcher for the fast pitch softball team. Shannon also served as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader.

Shannon is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Shirley (Brines) Garrett; sons, Shannon L. Garrett, Jr. (Ellen), Dan Garrett (Marti), and Steve Garrett (Joanie); 7 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Shannon is preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Ruth Garrett; brother, Dale Garrett; and granddaughter, Heather Vandiver.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 22, 2025, at Northeast Park Baptist Church, 1215 N. Boeke Road, Evansville, IN with Pastor Steve Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Monday, December 22, 2025, at Northeast Park Baptist Church.
