Shirley Ann Elfreich, age 86, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on April 6, 2026, at West River Health Campus.
Shirley was born on October 13, 1939, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Ermon and Verdie (Smith) McGregor. She graduated from Reitz High School in 1957.
Shirley faithfully served alongside her husband, Rev. Ferd Elfreich, throughout their ministry, working together in various Baptist congregations in the area. She married her high school sweetheart in Evansville, and together they shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. Shirley attended Grace Baptist and Northwoods Baptist Church.
Shirley had a deep love for her family. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren and was always willing to lend a helping hand to her children and grandchildren in any way she could. Her kindness, devotion, and servant’s heart will be remembered by all who knew her.
Shirley is survived by her children, Kathy Brady (Phil), Jon Elfreich (Shannon), and Doug Elfreich (Christi); grandchildren, Lindsey Rolley (Brandon), Rachel Price (James), Jessica Andrews (Steve), Logan Elfreich (Holli), Kelsey Duff (Matt), Rachel Fenneman (Sam), William Elfreich, Jonathan Elfreich (Sarah), Christian Elfreich, Nick Elfreich (Lauren), Haley Elfreich, Tori James, and Kyle James; and great grandchildren, Mackenzie Rolley, Mason Rolley, Myles Rolley, Aiden Hall, Kallie Hall, Wyatt Duff, Owen Duff, Josie Mae Fenneman, Grace Ann Fenneman, Riley Jewel Elfreich, Susan Price, JD Price, Gage Price, and Brady Andrews.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Reverend Ferd A. Elfreich; siblings, Virginia Cullen, Helen Blackwell, Norris McGregor, and Robert McGregor.
Shirley's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at West River Health Campus for their compassionate care while she was there.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April, 11, 2026, with an hour of visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Ray Deeter officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 10, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
