Simon Hahn Obituary

Simon Jess Hahn, 22, of Tennyson, Indiana, passed away suddenly on April 13th of 2026. Simon was born on April 19th, 2003, to David and Lesa (Green) Hahn. He was the beloved brother to Ethan and Stella Hahn, and beloved grandson to Wendell and Carol Hahn, and Steve and Jana Green. He is also survived by an aunt, Amelia Veitengruber, uncles, Mike and Jason Hahn, and their families.

Simon was raised in Albion, Illinois, until his family moved to Elberfeld, Indiana when he was 9. He graduated from Tecumseh High School in 2021, where he loved playing football with many of his current friends. He worked as an HVAC technician for Local Union 136.

Simon was raised with a love for the outdoors, hunting and fishing as often as he could. He enjoyed golfing with his friends and playing slow-pitch softball with his dad and brother. Simon’s friends will remember him for his sarcastic wit and willingness to help out on projects. He found it especially enjoyable when no one knew what they were doing, least of all Simon, which made for entertaining stories for his family.

Simon’s family will remember him for his unique personality. His dry, witty remarks would come out of nowhere and were memorable. Simon’s fearlessness, against common sense or sound advice, kept his parents awake at night and his tetanus shot boosted. As a preschooler, Simon caught bees in tiny containers. As an adult, he caught the opossums that didn’t play dead.Si accepted the consequences for his questionable judgement and always said it was worth it.

Simon’s death was the result of a deep inner conflict, the severity of which his family was unaware. But God gave us Simon as a gift according to His divine plan, and for our lives to be fulfilled with the enjoyment of Simon’s presence. And we pray that God will use Simon’s death as part of His divine plan to bring others closer to Him, trusting in Jesus as their Savior.

“Let your unfailing love surround us, LORD, for our hope is in you alone.” Psalm 33:22

Simon is survived by his loving parents, David and Lesa Hahn; his siblings, Stella Hahn and Ethan Hahn; his grandparents, Steve and Jana Green, and Wendell and Carol Hahn; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss him.
