Suzanne (Henning) Demsey, age 87, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 6:48 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Majestic Care of Newburgh.
Suzanne was born July 7, 1935, in Petersburg, IN, to Carl and Otie (Beadles) Henning. She graduated from Bosse High School. Suzanne started working for the Vanderburgh County Treasurer’s Office, and then as a Customer Service Representative for the Vanderburgh County Clerk’s Office. She worked for a combined 40 years before retiring. Suzanne was a Vanderburgh Republican Precinct Commiteewoman for 30 years. She attended Bethel Church for 40 years where she served as the church pianist and sang with Saints Alive. Suzanne loved Southern Gospel Music; she owned every Gaither Vocal Band DVD and was an avid attendee of the local Gospel concerts as well as the National Gospel Quartet Convention. She enjoyed traveling with her husband on their annual vacations. She loved spending time with her whole family around dinner for the holidays.
Suzanne is survived by her daughter, Cindy Nonweiler (Roger); grandchildren, Shawn Collins (Melissa), Mindy Ellis (Matt), Randy Nonweiler (Tara), and Dawn Collins; great grandchildren, Katelynn and Madison Nonweiler, Logan and Evan Ellis, and Bailey and McKenna Collins; and great great grandchildren, Jasper and Freya Brooks.
Suzanne is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Otie Henning; loving husband, Charles M. Demsey, who passed away in 2005; and daughter, Lucy Ball, who passed away in 2013.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 24, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, with Pastor Dave Schwambach officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 5501 Washington Avenue, Evansville, and from 12:00 p.m. until service time, Monday, April 24, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home.
