Tamra "Tammy" (McCool) Heerdink

Tamra “Tammy” (McCool) Heerdink, age 57, of Chandler, IN, passed away after a brief battle with brain cancer at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2020, surrounded by her loving friends and family in her home.

Tammy was born June 6, 1962, in Anaheim, CA, to Richard McCool and Deanna (Hunt) Evans. She graduated from Harrison High School in 1980 and was a member of Vann Avenue Baptist Church.

Tammy loved teaching her Sunday school class and going on retreats with her church family. Playing cards and watching movies with her husband, kids, and Aunt Linda Lindy along with travelling the world brought her great joy.

Tammy is survived by her beloved husband of 36 years, Terry Heerdink; sons, Jeffrey Heerdink-Santos (José) of Bloomington, IN and Timothy Heerdink (Amber) of Newburgh, IN; sisters, Jennifer Mencer of Chandler, IN, Shelley Fox (Mark Loehrlein) of Evansville, IN, and Shannon Orr (Terry) of Slidell, LA; stepsister, Julie May; stepbrothers, Paul Grammer (Laura), Steve Grammer, and Donald Evans Jr.; granddaughter, Audrey Heerdink, and many nieces and nephews.

Tammy is preceded in death by her stepparents, Donald Evans Sr. and Martha McCool.

Family Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 p.m., May 8, 2020, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Reverend Dr. Larry Lewis officiating.
