Terri L. (McCarty) Smith

Terri L. (McCarty) Smith, age 67, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Heart to Heart Hospice House.

Terri was born October 16, 1958, in Evansville, IN, to TJ and Hattie (Pfingston) McCarty. She graduated from Harrison High School. She was a member of The Refuge Christian Church where she was Director of Hospitality. Her faith was incredibly important to her. Terri enjoyed travelling to Clearwater, FL with her sisters. She loved her family and especially loved being with her grandchildren.

Terri is survived by her daughter, Lindsey Crow (Chad); son, Stephen Smith (Holly); sisters, Londa Myers (Bob), Martha DeTalente (Gordon), and Alice Albin (James); and 10 grandchildren.

Terri is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of over 30 years, Ira Boyd Smith; daughter, Amanda Taylor; son, Matthew Spalding; and sister, Tonya Deffendoll (Bud).

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:30 p.m., Monday, December 15, 2025, at The Refuge Christian Church, 8566 Telephone Road, Chandler, IN 47610 with Pastors Brian DeTalente, Chad DeTalente, and Gordon DeTalente officiating. Burial will be Private.

Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until service time, Monday, December 15, 2025, at The Refuge Christian Church.
