Thomas Lee O’Brien, age 78, passed away at 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2019, at Linda E. White Hospice House. The family would like to say a special thank you to his nurse, Debbie, for her loving care.
Tom was born January 20, 1940, in Cadiz, KY, to Jack O’Brien and Irene (Hawkins) Wyand. After his father passed, Tom was raised by his loving Stepfather, Paul Wyand. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church and currently attended Living Word Christian Church in Newburgh. Tom enjoyed coaching his children at South Little League and made many lifetime friends while doing so. He also enjoyed working in his yard and had a love for the ponies at Ellis Park. His most cherished time was spent with his family.
Tom was a devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Frances (Wood) O’Brien; brother, Pat O’Brien (Barbara), children, Tom O’Brien Jr (Debbie), Debbie Terry (Rick), Patty Perry (Mike), Scotty O’Brien (Missy) and Missy Crane (Roger); grandchildren, Lindsey Turney (Jared); Keil O’Brien, Tabitha Terry, Kaylee Terry, Jennifer Gander (Chris), Chris Wootton (Lindsay), Andrew Perry, Lauren Lagenour (Samuel), Meagan O’Brien, Cameron O’Brien, Peyton O’Brien, Madalyn O’Brien, Dakota Richardt (Victoria), Drayke Richardt; as well as 12 great grandchildren.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Jack O’Brien, Paul Wyand and Irene Wyand.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 4, 2019 at Living Word Christian Church at 3888 IN-261, Newburgh with Reverend Mike Claypool officiating. Burial will be Private.
Friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until service time, Friday, October 4, 2019 at Living Word Christian Church.
