Tyler J. Griggs, age 32, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021, at the Linda E. White Hospice House after a brave and courageous 15 month battle with colon cancer.
Tyler was born June 14, 1988 in Evansville to Jim and Karen (Lasher) Griggs. Growing up Tyler participated in the Plaza Baseball and Basketball Booster Club. Tyler also played baseball and tennis for Harrison High School. He graduated valedictorian in 2007 and also received the Kiwanis award for tennis. Tyler received his bachelor degrees in accounting, finance and business management from Purdue in 2012. He was a member of TKE fraternity and AIESEC organization. After college, he moved to Indianapolis working in the accounting field and then moved to the Dallas/Arlington Texas area. He relocated to Austin, Tx. to continue working in the accounting field, then moved back to Evansville in 2019.
Tyler is survived by his parents and brother Ryan Griggs; uncle, David Lasher (Jane); cousins, Erin Lasher and Nicholas Flory; aunt, Martha Flory (Eric); “aunt” Sherry; various aunts, uncles and cousins.
Tyler is preceded in death by maternal grandparents Leo and Sharon (Graham) Lasher; paternal grandparents, Norma (Cahoon) and Jim Griggs.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Eric Rawdon officiating. A Live Stream will be available beginning twenty minutes prior to the service time. Public visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL.
