Valentina Petrovna (Sukhorukova) Podgaysky

Valentina Petrovna (Sukhorukova) Podgaysky, age 87, of Evansville, IN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at home, with her family by her side.

Valentina was born July 29, 1937, in Gulkevichi District, Krasnodar Krai, Russia, to Petr Ivanovich Sukhorukov and Anna (Kharitonova) Sukhorukova. She attended school in Russia and enjoyed singing in the choir at her home church. Valentina moved to the United States in 1989 and moved to Evansville, IN, in 2010. In the last few years, she was a part of Grace of Christ Slavic Baptist Church.

Valentina is survived by her sons, Mikhail Podgaysky (Elena), Victor Podgaysky (Nadia), Sergey Podgaysky (Raisa), and Leny Podgaysky (Svetlana); sister-in-law, Luba Degtyareva; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.

Valentina is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pavel Podgaysky; and sons, Andrey Podgaysky, Roman Podgaysky, and Pavel Podgaysky.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. CST, Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Andrey Kuzmenko officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery immediately following the Service.

Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 12:00 p.m. CST, Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
