Vernon R. Ballew

Vernon R. Ballew, age 90, of Evansville, IN passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Heart to Heart Hospice.

Vernon was born August 25, 1934, in Evansville, to Edward J. and Mildred (McNeely) Ballew. He graduated from Bosse High School in 1952. Vernon retired as a draftsman from International Steel after 37 years. After retirement, he worked for Paul’s Pharmacy and Blue Ribbon Courier. He enjoyed driving and spending time with his friends at the Carousel Restaurant. Family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Vernon is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Margaret “Maggie” (Loesch) Ballew; daughter, Julie Kuehn (Larry); son, David Ballew (Doreen); grandchildren, Christina Bartley (Clint and Wendy), Shawna Vargas, Jeannie Miller (Marcus), Shawn Kuehn (Chris Payne), Jennifer Buehler, and Molly Boyd (Jeff); 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

Vernon is preceded in death by his parents; and sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Ron Wilson.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 20, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Darryl Marin officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Newburgh.

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Friday, September 20, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
