Veronica “Ann” Whelan, age 80, of Evansville, IN passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Walnut Creek Alzheimer’s Special Care Center.
Ann was born March 4, 1944, in Bardstown, KY, to John Sydney and Josephine Aline (Greenwell) Clark. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Kentucky and graduated with her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Cincinnati. Ann retired from teaching after 35 years at St. Wendel. She was a huge UK Basketball fan and enjoyed running, walking, and playing sports. Ann was an avid reader. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Jessica Whelan (Simon King); son, Nick Whelan (Hannah); sisters, Iona Bryan, Lynnette Chambers, and Barbara Harper; brother, Randy Clark; and grandchildren, Derek Whelan, Alex Whelan, Sophie King, and Austin King.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 48 years, Joseph Whelan; and brothers, John Sydney Clark, Jr., William Chester Clark, George Nolin Clark, and Arnold Clark.
Graveside Services will be private at Park Lawn Cemetery.
