Versal (Huff) Osmon, age 93, of Evansville, IN, went home to be with the Lord on January 21, 2025 at 8:10 p.m., at the Evansville Protestant Home.
Versal was born January 19, 1932, in Rumsey, KY, to the late Curtis B. and Bessie Mae (Holmes) Huff. She was a faithful member of Methodist Temple where she served for years as an Usher in the morning services. She joined her church group on a Mission Trip to Belize. She was a homemaker who previously worked part-time in retail at the former Luggage Shop and Smith and Butterfield. Versal formerly lived in Louisville, KY, Muncie, IN, Livonia, MI, and Houston, TX.
Versal, who was lovingly called Dutch, enjoyed traveling the world with Richard, making beautiful memories in Italy, Switzerland, Scotland, Ireland, and many other places. She was a member of the Kennel Club in her younger years. She was a talented baker and always had her famous chocolate chip cookies on hand for hungry grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and creating beautiful embroidery that family members will always treasure.
Versal is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Richard Osmon; daughter, Deborah Osmon Brand of Evansville, IN; son, Stephen Osmon (Caroline) of Bastrop, TX; grandchildren, Ian Brand (Lydia) of Round Rock, TX, Emily Cadiz (Angel) of Newburgh, IN, Logan Osmon of Bastrop, TX, and Rylie Osmon of Dallas, TX; and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Reverend Clara Debose officiating. Entombment will be in Park Lawn Mausoleum.
Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time, Friday, January 24, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
