Virgil A. Jennings

Virgil A. Jennings, age 83, of Evansville, IN, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025, at the Terrace at Solarbron.

Virgil was born November 26, 1941, in Evansville, IN, to Cordis and Clara (Schulz) Jennings. He graduated from North High School in 1962. Virgil retired from Whirlpool after over 30 years of employment. He was the Sergeant of Arms for the Local 808 and a member of Lessing Masonic Lodge #464. Virgil was also a member of Eville Iron Street Rod for 34 years and loved travelling in his ’51 Mercury. He also was the proud owner of a ’31 Ford Phaeton and ’37 Cadillac Lasalle.

Virgil is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sharon (Phelps) Jennings; daughters, Deanna Rhoades (Mark) and Dawn Goodpasture (Mark); sons, Dwayne Jennings (Deanna) and Darrin Jennings (Kim); 10 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Virgil is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Jennings Helton; and brother, Raymond Jennings.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. CST, Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Sweetwater Event Center, 8335 Eagle Lake Drive, Evansville, IN 47715.
