Vivian “Joyce” (Brown) McFarland, age 94, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, surrounded by her family.
Joyce was born October 2, 1931, in Evansville, Indiana, to Jess and Edith (Gentry) Brown. She graduated from Reitz High School in 1949. Joyce was a member of the Daughters of the Nile and worked in accounting for Credit Thrift for many years.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Karla (Ray) Goff; granddaughters, Stephanie Goff and Jennifer Goff; brother, Larry (Phyllis) Brown; great granddaughter, Charissa Robinson; and her partner in crime, Don Boerner.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 46 years, Richard “Red” McFarland.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel — A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Ave., Evansville, with Brother John D. Herring Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Tupman Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
