Obituary

Wanda Rhea (Barnett) Cannon, age 83, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital.

Wanda was born February 12, 1939, in Pinckneyville, KY, to the late Louis Barnett and Opal (LeGrand) Barnett. She graduated from Salem High School in 1958. Wanda was of the Baptist Faith and worked in retail. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, and working in her flower and vegetable garden. Wanda was very devoted to her family, and she especially loved her grandkids.

Wanda is survived by her sons, Jerry Smithhart and John Cannon; grandchildren, Blake Cannon, Parker Cannon and Cali Cannon; and many nieces and nephews.

Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, James Gilbert “Jim” Cannon; brothers, Charles Barnett, Mason Barnett, Roy Barnett, Wayne Barnett and Harlen Barnett.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Shady Grove Cemetery in Shady Grove, KY with Pastor Sam Hinkson officiating.
