Wanda "Joan" Robinson

Wanda “Joan” Robinson, age 89, of Evansville, IN, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family at 1:38 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2021, at Hamilton Pointe.

Joan was born May 24, 1931, in Evansville, IN, to Shirley O. Gentry and Edith (Hollingsworth) Gentry. She graduated from Wadesville High School. Joan retired from St Mary’s Medical Center after working as a nursing assistant for 21 years. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, reading and singing as an alto in the church choir. She was a member of the Vann Ave Baptist Church for over 54 years.

Joan is survived by her daughters, Julie A. McCormick (Kriss) and Amy Witham (Scott); sons, Jonathan W. Evans (Cheryl) and Brian K. Evans; grandchildren, Jessica Ritzert, Joanne Palmisano (Keith), Meagan Wilson (Jim), Jonathan Witham; great grandchildren, Shelby (Michael), Evan, Madison, Silas, Eliam, Jamison, Haven and Jaxson; great-great grandchild, Ivy. Stepdaughters; Pam Pepper (Randy) and Wanda Robinson.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents, Shirley and Edith; her loving husband, William “Bill” Robinson; brother, Eugene Gentry; sisters, Dorothy Grossman, Betty Bush and Dora Lee Reich.

Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, February 25th, ­­­2021, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Steve Clayton officiating. A Live Stream will be available beginning twenty minutes prior to the service time.
