William Cook, Jr.

William “Bill” Cook, Jr., age 88, of Evansville, In, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025, at North Park Nursing Center.

Bill was born September 7, 1936, in Florence, Alabama. Bill served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Campbell. He retired from Whirlpool Corporation in 1998. Bill loved restoring old clocks and watches. For decades he could be found at the local flea markets selling his goods. Each summer Bill spent hours in his backyard garden tending his cherished tomatoes.

Bill is survived by his wife of 45 years, Wilda “Willie” Cook (Payton); sons, Tim and Danny of Evansville and Mark of Arizona; stepchildren, Francis Burch, Carl Askins, Jr., and Kenneth Askins; and a step-grandson Derek Burch.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, Indiana. Burial will be private in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 10 a.m.. until 12:00p.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
