William Cooper Lilly II, 68, died at 3 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
He retired in 1991 as vice president lending after 35 years at Citizens Bank. He was a World War II Army veteran and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War.
He was a member of Eagles, Metropolitan Evansville Chamber of Commerce, American Lung Association, Mental Health Association, Downtown Retail Merchants Association, Evansville Advertising Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1114. He helped bring the Jazz Festival to Evansville in the early 1960s.
Surviving are a daughter, Brenda Williams of St. Philip, Ind.; two sons, Brett M. and William C. Ill, both of Evansville; two sisters, Arlene Shanner of Adrian, Mich., and Virginia Drozd of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and four grandchildren, Dan and Jessica Williams and Brett Jr. and Bryan Lilly.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Boone Funeral Home 5330 Washington Ave., Joseph Fraccaro officiating, with burial pending.
