William “Bill” Hupp, age 99, of Evansville, IN, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the Evansville Protestant Home.
Bill was born July 12, 1924, in Oreana, IL, to the late Thomas E. and Edith A. (Hobbs) Hupp. Bill proudly served in the US Navy during World War II and had the privilege of participating in the 1st Honor Flight out of Evansville. Since then, he has greeted every arriving Honor Flight. He worked for Alcoa for 24 years. Bill was a faithful member of First Southern Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling with the Keenagers to the contiguous 48 states. He was a life-long Chicago Cubs fan and played on several fast pitch softball teams.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 79 years, Gladys “Aileen” (Lewis) Hupp; children, Darlene Kozyra, William Hupp (Gina), Nancy Kincaide (Jerry), Janice Korba (Al), Deborah Barton (Rex), Mary Mayes (Rick) and Michelle Brasher (Jeff); 22 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and sisters, Dorothy Adams, Shirley Lechleiter and Jane Miller.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Adam Hupp; 2 sisters; and 6 brothers.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2024, at First Southern Baptist Church, 25 S. Cullen Avenue, with Pastor David Cullison and Pastor Joe Mayes officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, where the American Legion Kapperman Post #44, will render military rites.
Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, and again from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Saturday, March 16, 2024,at First Southern Baptist Church.
