William E. “Bill” Robinson, age 82, of Evansville, IN, formerly of Petersburg, IN, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 6, 2020, at Deaconess Gateway Heart Hospital.
Bill was born January 25, 1938, in Petersburg, IN, to William A. Robinson and Lucy Mae (Wheatley) Robinson. He graduated from Petersburg High School in 1956 and then served in the U.S. Army until 1958. Bill was a graduate of University of Evansville and went on to earn an MBA from Indiana State University. He worked 12 years as a chemist for Mead Johnson and at Bernardin Bottling Co., also known as American National Can as manager of quality control and field service, until he retired in 1991. After retirement, Bill went to work for United Leasing as a sales manager and trainer. Bill was also a part time faculty member at USI. He attended Central United Methodist Church for many years. Bill loved to collect Native American artwork and Eagle themed artwork. He enjoyed the outdoors, playing golf, fishing, hunting, traveling and spending time with his family. Bill never forgot growing up in Petersburg, IN, or his lifelong childhood friends.
Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years, Charlotte (Thomas) Robinson; son, Eric Jason Robinson; and sister, Brenda Hall, and many nieces and nephews.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Deanna Knight; and brother, Donald Wilson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 10, 2020, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Dewey Miller officiating.
