William Proctor "Bill" Robinson

William Proctor “Bill” Robinson, age 96, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 4:43 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at The Village at Hamilton Pointe.

Bill was born November 5, 1922, in Beech Creek, KY, to Willy H. and Eula Mae (Jones) Robinson. He was a long-time member of Vann Avenue Baptist Church where he served as Head Usher. Bill retired from Schnacke Manufacturing in 1989 after 30 years. He was known around Evansville as “The Lawnmower Man.” Bill had a mower repair service in his home, and he loved tending his yard and mowing grass. He also enjoyed vegetable gardening and fishing.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Wanda “Joan” (Gentry) Robinson; daughters, Wanda Osborne (John) of Florence, AZ, Pamela Pepper (Randy) of Florence, AZ, Julie McCormick (Kriss) of Chrisney, IN, and Amy Witham (Scott) of Evansville, IN; sons, Jonathan Evans (Cheryl) of Newburgh, IN, and Brian Evans of Evansville, IN; 16 grandchildren, and 34 great grandchildren.

BBill is preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Evelyn Robinson; daughters, Diane Greer and Margaret Pifer; son, William Douglas Robinson; sisters, Ruby Pearson, Nell Epley, Eva Stapleton; brother, Eddie Robinson; grandson, John Kevin Osborne; and great grandson, Shawn Wigginton.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 23, 2019 at Vann Avenue Baptist Church, 2608 Vann Avenue with Reverend Dr. Larry Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.  

Friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 22, 2019 and from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Monday, September 23, 2019 at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue.
